The Challenge

On Saturday the 29th of June 2024. Two teams of six are competing to achieve the fastest completion time in the challenging star* scheme Snowdonia Skyline event. The athletes will hike 30 km and ascent 1815 meters in one day with an additional four further challenges.

The rugby stars will be showcasing their exceptional physical prowess highlighting how even retired athletes possess extraordinary capabilities. All with the mission to raise funds for star*

The athletes' participation is driven by their belief in the transformative impact of the star* scheme, drawing from their personal experiences with rugby's profound ability to enrich lives and create opportunities.

The teams will be followed by a content creator for the duration to capture all of the action. You can follow along with all the excitement of the day via our social media channels.

The Route

Starting and finishing in the village of Llanberis, this epic adventure challenge route takes you on a journey across the Snowdon massif, over 5 different summits.

Starting with local favourite, Moel Eilio, then continuing over Foel Gron and Foel Goch before a steep descent and reascending to Moel Cynghorion. Next, it's onwards to join the Ranger path up to the final summit; Yr Wyddfa.

The return route will be down the Llanberis path alongside the world famous Snowdon Mountain Railway. Then they will take on the Vertical Kilometre challenge, into the UNESCO Slate Quarries.

After a quick breather, they take on the Team Abseil before finally descending to Llyn Padarn and the Kayak Course! Once off the water, they will take on the final challenge - the Castle Challenge, within the ancient Dolbadarn castle before crossing the finish line back at the Royal Victoria Hotel.
